About

I’m Puthick (ពុទ្ធិ). I was born during Heng Samrin regime in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I went Chaktomouk primary, Sisowath High, the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and the Australian National University (ANU). I finished my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from RUPP in 2001. I came to Canberra, Australia in 2003 and studied at the Department of Computer Science at the ANU from 2004 to 2005. I received a Graduate Diploma of Science in Computer Science and Master of Information Technology from the ANU.

One of my theses completed at the ANU is about spell checking Khmer. I developed a Khmer word segmentation algorithm based on a Hidden Markov Model. The thesis can be download from

http://khspell.sourceforge.net/.

I will used this blog as my personal diary of useful things I encounter on the Internet. I expect most of items I will be collecting is computing related stuff. Computing is a fascinating science. In my opinion, it is fascinating because of the Internet and free and open source communities which opened up my brain to the core of this young and pervasive science.
